News & Announcements

School Updates for the week of:

April 15-19

JCMS will be busy over the next two weeks. Beginning Tuesday, April 16th, students will be taking the TCAP assessment each day. We are confident that our students will do well and are anxious to see the results of their hard work. Our teachers have worked hard to prepare our students and we are appreciative of their dedication.

Each day that students are present in attendance for the assessment, they will be entered into a drawing to possibly win a bicycle. Horace Mann has donated two bikes for us to give away. All students need to do to be entered into the drawing is to show up at school each day for testing

Mid-terms go home April 26th.

If you are a parent or guardian of one of our middle school students and would like to participate in revising our school handbook, please email Dr. Long at clong@jocoed.net. We wants input from students, parents, staff and teachers, If you are interested, you will be called or emailed with the date and time we will meet to discuss revisions.

PAC Spring Fling Auction will be taking place on May 10th.

Sports

Softball and baseball have games on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Be sure to listen to the news and check the district website for early dismissals, school closings or delays. If you are not receiving the call-outs, make sure you have the correct phone number in skyward.

Our Mission

The mission of Johnson County Middle School is to provide a safe, non-threatening, enriching environment in which students achieve successful transitions between elementary and high school, as they meet and exceed academic standards for the middle grades.

Bullying Prevention for Parents

Middle school. It’s the transition from childhood to adolescence—when children become more independent and want to make choices for themselves. They are also in a developmental period when friends and social circles are increasingly important. And it’s the time when children can experience bullying most. If you have questions about bullying and what to do about it, check out this resource for tips and information on it.
